Eco Grass
The use of Eco Grass in the Hendrick Foundation Garden is a sustainable choice that aligns with the Foundation's commitment to environmental stewardship. By using Eco Grass, the garden is contributing to the preservation of water resources and reducing the carbon footprint associated with lawn care (less use of fossil fuel-powered equipment.).
The seven fine fescue grasses that make up Eco Grass have been carefully selected for their sustainability attributes. They have a deep root system that can access groundwater naturally, reducing the need for watering, and they are slow-growing, reducing the amount of mowing required. In addition, the fine blades of Eco Grass reduce water loss in hot weather, making it more drought-tolerant than other grass species.
Eco Grass is comprised of the following seven fine fescue grasses: Sheeps Fescue Lifine, Slender Fescue Navigator, Creeping Red Fescue Jasper II, Creeping Red Fescue Longfellow II, Chewings Fescue Heron, Hard Fescue Chariot, and Hard Fescue.
The use of Eco Grass in the Hendrick Foundation Garden aligns with the Foundation's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
