The Hendrick Foundation Board has the power to partner with existing community groups or create committees in support of community-led initiatives that further the Foundation’s mission. Hendrick Foundation committees are a group of motivated community members who meet regularly around a common purpose. They work toward furthering the Foundation's mission, providing opportunities for community involvement and spreading the workload into manageable pieces so every small action creates a big impact. There are excellent examples of committee-driven projects that have been successfully launched and maintained on Foundation land that further the Foundation’s mission. The Foundation has two types of committees: ad hoc committees and standing committees.
-
An ad hoc committee is organized with a specific objective in mind, and serves at the discretion of the board of directors until the task is completed. After the objective is complete the ad hoc committee is dissolved. If the initiative succeeds in meeting its goals and if the initiative requires ongoing maintenance the Hendrick Farm Foundation can warrant Standing status to the committee.
-
A standing committee is a group of community members taking action around a subject that furthers the Hendrick Farm Foundation mission and operates on an ongoing basis. These community members will choose their spokesperson, work towards a common goal, have their own meetings, and liaise to the president of the Hendrick Farm Foundation.
